Volunteer Leadership
The SFA was created by its members, for its members, and relies on their input to guide the association. Volunteer leadership positions provide an opportunity for SFA members to have a direct voice in shaping SFA programs and services. This, in turn, helps support the growth and success of the specialty food industry.
Each year, we issue a call for nominations for volunteer roles. For the 2025-2026 term, these include the Board of Directors/Committee and Council positions.
SFA Councils Aligned with the 2026 Strategic Plan:
- Buyer Council
- Fancy Food Show Council
- Membership Council
- Recognition Council
Volunteer opportunities are available to employees, partners, or individuals actively involved in the business or management of SFA member companies in good standing.
Election and Appointment Process for SFA Volunteer Leadership
Nomination & Election Timeline:
- January-February: Nominations accepted for all volunteer positions.
- March-May: Review of nominees, including qualifications, past contributions (if applicable), and interviews for Board openings.
- June: Elections are held to vote on the Board of Directors slate. Results of the election and volunteer appointments are announced at the Annual Member Meeting.
